There are a couple of DR2 motor versions but the most common has the switch arrangement as shown below. There can be a few reasons why your wiper motor does not park itself the primary being that the switch inside the gearbox is faulty. Otherwise they just "park" wherever they are when I turn off the swich. I have to time when I turn off the switch so that I can 'park" the wipers manually where I want them.

My motor was rebuilt but there is a green wire coming out of its harness that is not connected to anything. Below is a picture of what the setup looks like when looking at the armature as well as the replacement kit part no 743171 for the brushes and arms. There is a peice of hard orange material that sits on the surface of the yello plastic where the terminals are located that accomplishes that as well as a T piece of black material which the spring attaches to on either arm and they sometimes becomes so brittle that they deteriorate causing the brush holder arms to short. I've worked on a few of these motors and the issue is usually what is called "brush gear" It is very important that the two brush arms be totally insulated from the housing/brush holders. Here is a rebuilt DR2 motor if you cannot find someone to look at the one you have. Dec 25 Debating Or What To Do With Th.
